Local Medway Christian Business men and women pull together to open an Internet Cafe (with a difference).
Gate-Way.org.uk Internet Cafe opened in Brompton High Street this Saturday 12th July 2008
by the Rev Edward Wright of St.Helen's Cliffe in association with Councillor Trevor Clarke (Member of Rochester South and Horsted Ward)
BUSINESS SUCCESS STORY:
Local Medway Christian Business men and women pull together to open an Internet Cafe (with a difference).
Kingdom Exchange Church members (KEM) felt Brompton needed a place for families to be able to meet, have a coffee and use the internet. They even have a children's area to give mums a break. Decking has been added to the garden to offer a place to sit in the sun and have a drink.
Members of the church and local Christian business people have shown what can be achieved 'when we all work together'; by converting a dormant florist, into a state of the art resources centre and internet cafe, offering:
- Internet Cafe
- Business Centre (with fax, print, scan, photocopy facilities)
- Stationery, greeting cards, postal, moneygram, books and even party accessories (balloons and chocolate fountain)
- Downstairs is a state-of-the-art multi media Training Centre and Counselling Service
Open: Mon to Fri 9am to 5 pm; Sat 10am till 4 pm
8a High Street, Brompton, Gillingham, Kent ME7 5AE
Manager Tracey Maple says "it is an ideal place to meet up with your friends and even make new ones"
Pastors Emmanuel & Layo together with Elders Sven & Melinda Grahn; Jim & Ali Crompton and Brian & Pat Pusser, believe it is time for the church to serve the community in a practical way; "Brompton is in need for some tender loving care and we feel led to show God's love through positive actions; to provide a 'gate-way' to those that want business services, counselling and spiritual help (if they want it)."
